Thinking of you

Good afternoon friends and visitors.
It's turned out to be a glorious afternoon here and just in time for the big bike race 'The Tour de Yorkshire'. There will be a lot of people waiting at the finish line to greet the cyclist's but, alas, I wont be there to see it. Had I thought of it, I would have done a 'themed' card!
Anyhow, I didn't think of it, so here is today's non Tour de Yorkshire card.

The supplies used here are
* Marianne design embossing folders extra (folder and die) DF3416
* LemonCraft Heart Painted paper stack
* Spellbinders Fleur de Lis square
* Presscut square nesting dies
* Sue Wilson / Creative Expressions Spring Foliage (leaves only)
* Sue Wilson / Creative Expressions Stitched Flags
* Elizabeth Crafts Bunch of Flowers
* Distress inks Bundled sage / Shabby shutters (leaves)
* Distress inks Antique Linen / Victorian velvet / Picked Raspberry / Spun Sugar / Milled Lavender / Crushed Olive (flowers)
* Unlabeled sentiment stamp (a magazine freebie I think)
* Green metallic textured cardstock
* Pearls from my stash

After cutting out all the little individual quatrefoil shapes for the background and sticking them on, I wanted to keep the flowers simple, particularly as I wanted a lot of them. So I decided on simple single layered flowers.
I've had the embossing folder and matching die for a while but only just 'found' it hidden in my stash!

Well that is today's card. I hope you like it.
Your visits are very much appreciated, so thank you for stopping by today and please visit again soon x

Beauty comes from within

Good afternoon visitors.
My my, how the weather has turned today. Still beautiful and sunny at times though, so I shouldn't complain!

Today's card was inspired by a card made by Andrea Ewen. Another blog that is well worth a visit if you have the time.

So here is said card.

The supplies used here are

* Papermania premium textured cardstock
* Dovecraft floral muse paper pack
* Spellbinders large labels
* Sue Wilson / Creative Expressions Orange blossom leaves
* Spellbinders Rose creations
* M&C Boutique border die
* Ivory foamiran
* Dali Art circle and square sentiment stamps
* Ultimate Crafts L'aquarelle Designs flourish stamp
* Distress inks Bundled sage/Shabby shutters  (leaves)
* Crelando pastel chalks  (leaves)
* Versacolor Cinnamon and Bamboo (flowers)
* Ribbon and pearls from my stash

I'm loving the papers and very pleased with how the roses turned out. (I really must place another order for foamiran!)

As for the weather, I definitely spoke too soon. In the middle of a hail storm as I type!

Well, that's it for today. I hope you like today's card, a little bit different from my usual style.

Thank you for visiting today  (at least you didn't have to leave the house to do so lol), and please pop back soon x

A little birdie told me

Hello again visitors.

It's a glorious day, if a little windy, here on the coast today. I hope the sun is shining wherever you are. It always seems a much better day when the sun is shining don't you think?

On today's card I finally got around to using the paper pack my lovely Daughter bought me for my birthday, so here it is

The supplies used here are

* Bronte Charm 8x8 paper pack
* Spellbinders bird cage two
* Sue Wilson / Creative Expressions fanciful trim
* White Foamiran
* Spellbinders Rose creations (large flower)
* Sheena Douglass fanciful fuchsia  (medium flowers)
* Elizabeth Crafts bunch of flowers  (small flowers)
* Sue Wilson / Creative Expressions spring foliage  (tiny flowers)
* Sue Wilson / Creative Expressions trailing ivy
* M&C Boutique stitched rectangles
* Nellies choice vintasia Romantic birds  (bird only)
* Versacolor white (background paper)
* Versacolor bronze ink (cage and trim)
* Papermania copper embossing powder (cage and trim)
* Stampendous aged silver embossing enamel (cage and trim)
* Unbranded aqua embossing powder (bird)
* Crelando pastel chalks (flowers and ivy)
* Ultimate Crafts L'aquarelle Designs sentiment stamp
* Pearls and stamens from my stash

I apologise for all the photo's but I like to get a view from as many angles as I can so you can see how it's all put together.

I love the background paper, green is a big favourite of mine, but it was a little too pristine for what I wanted, but I didn't want full on shabby. I used the white ink and the scrubby side of a washing up sponge to apply. It just makes it a little less perfect, if you see what I mean.
For the cage and trim I was trying to create a weathered look.
I've used the lovely Foamiran again for the flowers but the tiny ones are paper.

Gosh, what a long post! I hope I haven't bored you!

That's my offering for today, I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
Thank you for stopping by today and please visit again soon x

Just for You

Good afternoon visitors. I hope you all enjoyed the Easter break.

Have any of you had a play with Foamiran yet? Today's card has more Foamiran flowers, it is quite addictive! I only bought a little to sample really, but I can safely say I shall be ordering more.
I've recently discovered Silk Foamiran which doesn't require heat to shape it so I may have to add that to my shopping list.

Anyway, here is today's Foamiran flower card.

The supplies used here are

* Spellbinders labels twenty-two
* Sue Wilson / Creative Expressions Orange blossom flowers
* M&C Boutique leaves die
* Unlabeled sentiment stamp from my stash
* Ultimate Crafts L'aquarelle Designs flourish stamp
* White Foamiran
* Crelando pastel chalks
* Stamens from my stash
* Self adhesive embellishments from The Works

I really wanted to keep the design simple and keep it all about the flowers. I was tempted to add a patterned paper but felt it worked much better without.

I am entering today's card in a new challenge. You can find the details here

If you're thinking of having a go with Foamiran you could check it out or their Facebook page perhaps.

I certainly don't think I stand a chance in this challenge if I'm being honest. There are some truely awesome creations to compete with!

Well folks, that's my offering for today. I hope you liked it.
Thank you for your visit and please stop by again soon x

It's your Birthday

Good afternoon visitors.
My, how this week has flown by.
It always does when I get carried away in my craft room!

Well, as promised, today's card has been made with my first attempt at using Foamiran to make my flowers.
Now, it's not the card I had in mind as I had a last minute 'rush job', thanks to my Husband.
He suddenly remembered it was a work colleagues birthday and really wanted a special card to give from the staff.

So here is my first Foamiran flower card.

The supplies used here are
* LemonCraft paperstack Just Love Me
* Marianne design oval frame LR0293
* Spellbinders swallowtail tags
* All Occasions dies XL numbers
* Spellbinders Rose creations dies
* Rosy Dot flower dies Type 2
* Foamiran
* Crelando pastel chalks (flowers)
* Sue Wilson / Creative Expressions Spring foliage
* Ultimate Crafts L'aquarelle Designs sentiment stamp
* Joy Crafts decorative chalks Pearl  (oval frame)
* Distress ink bundled sage (leaves)
* Stamens from Wild Orchid Crafts
* Promarker lime green (stamens)
* Cosmic shimmer mica powder Pink Ultra and Versacolor pigment ink Raspberry  (numbers)
* Pearls from my stash

I think the flowers turned out ok for a first attempt, what do you think?
I'm very pleased with the pastel chalks, purchased from Lidl for under £3.00!

I can see playing with Foamiran could become quite addictive, the only negative is using a glue gun which I really dislike but hey, the results are worth the pain of burnt fingertips lol.

I really hope you like my efforts today and thank you so much for visiting x

Thank you for your kindness

Hello again visitors.
I seem to be on a bit of an unplanned theme of Thanks at the moment.

Today's card was all based on the butterfly embellishment. On a previous make I accidentally got glue on a ribbon and needed a solution to hide it. Luckily, I managed to remove the glue but I had already stamped and cut the butterfly, so I put it aside for later use.
Whilst seeking inspiration for this card I came across the butterfly and had a fiddle with some decorative chalks and I was really pleased with the end result so I just had to use it.
So here is today's card.

The supplies used here are
* Pretty Pastels creations design pad
* M&C Boutique border die, cut twice and staggered
* M&C Boutique heart frame, cut 3 times and layered
* Sue Wilson / Creative Expressions Orange blossom flowers
* Cheery Lynn tea rose leaves only
* Ultimate Crafts L'aquarelle Designs butterfly stamp
* Dali Art circle and square sentiment stamps
* Archival brilliance aurora ink pad
* Clear embossing powder
* Dovecraft decorative chalks Bright (flowers and leaves)
* Joy Crafts decorative chalks Pearl (butterfly)
* Cosmic shimmer mica powder enchanted gold (heart frame)
* Ribbon and pearls from my stash

The butterfly was stamped with the aurora ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I fussy cut it and then used the chalks on top.

The sentiment is looking a little fuzzy on the photo's but it really isn't in real life (I promise ☺).

I also wanted to use the M&C boutique dies from The Works just to show that you can get a good result from a cheaper brand of dies.

Well that's todays card. I'm not sure what my next one will be as I'm awaiting delivery of some Lemon craft papers....can't wait! I've also been having a first go at making Foamiran flowers which might just make an appearance on Friday's card.

I apologise for the long post but I have tried to add a bit more detail to how the card was made.

Thank you for your visit today and please stop by again soon x
