* Freebie embossing folder
* Joy crafts oval die
* Spellbinders floral oval die
* Spellbinders classic oval
* Sizzix/Stampin up designer frames embossing folder
* Sue Wilson orange blossom dies
* Sue Wilson orange blossom leaves
* Cheery Lynn flourish leaf strip
* Marianne die LR0192
* Crafters companion sentimentals sentiment
* distress inks
* Papermania holographic embossing powder

Merry Christmas

Good evening visitors and followers. The big day is almost upon us and tonights post is my final Christmas card this year.

Originally this card was made for my son, (until he saw the one I'd made for his Dad and he requested one similar!) so it's fine for me to post it here now.

For this card I have used

* Sue wilson noble pierced squares
* Joy Crafts border 6002/0357
* Cheery Lynn Merry Christmas die
* Card from my stash.

I doubled up the border and sentiment to give added dimension to what is basically, a very simple card.

I hope you have enjoyed the Christmas cards I have managed to post this year. Hopefully I will have many more to share with you next year.

I will post again a week today, so until then, thank you for stopping by and have a very merry Christmas one and all x

Tuesday, 20 December 2016

Good evening visitors. Have you noticed my new follow button? It took me a while to work it out but I got there in the end. All I need to do now is try to get a Pin button!!

Well Christmas is almost upon us and I have just one final family card to finish. I must say, I'm really looking forward to making something different.

Tonights card is a 'white on white'.

For this card I have used

* Spellbinders standard circles
* Sizzix Merry Christmas embossing folder
* Cheery Lynn poinsettia strip
* Cheery Lynn wreath strip
* Ribbon, pearls and stamens from my stash.

A very simple card with just a sprinkle of glitter on the wreath branches.
I hope you like todays card. Only one more Christmas theme post to go!

Thank you for visiting today, I hope you pop back soon x

Friday, 16 December 2016

Good evening visitors and welcome to my new followers.

After taking some advice, I have come to the conclusion that I need to be more consistent with my blog posts. From now on, I shall try to post twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Fridays.
I'm quite spontaneous with my crafting and seem to have applied that approach to my blog too!
Well I can only try it and see how it goes.

Todays card is a family card. It's fine for me to post it here as the recipient's will never see it (they don't do the internet).

I love a bit of gold at Christmas, don't you?

For this card I have used
* Embossalicious Merry Christmas embossing folder
* Spellbinders twisted metal tags
* Spellbinders fancy tags two
* Spellbinders fancy framed tags one
* Spellbinders holly tags
* Cheery Lynn poinsettia strip
* A magazine freebie for the little pine branches
* Creative Expressions gilding wax in Enchanted Gold and Golden Light
* Justrite Christmas antique labels one sentiment stamp
* Pearls from my stash
* Encore ultimate metallic gold ink on the poinsettias.

I like the simplicity of this card, and almost kept the whole thing white with just the background tags in gold. But, I just couldn't resist adding the gilding wax and I'm glad I did, I'm happy with how it turned out.

I hope you like my offering for today and I hope you come back soon. Tuesday ok for you?

Bye for now and thank you for stopping by x

Cheery Lynn challenge #244

Well hello again visitors.
Two posts in one day, that's due to getting up at a ridiculously early hour this morning!

Well I managed to complete another card, this time for the Cheery Lynn design challenge red and green theme.

Cheery Lynn challenge #244

For this one I have used the following
* Cheery Lynn Merry Christmas die and poinsettia strip
* Sue Wilson pine bough die
* Anna Griffin stamp

I love the Cheery Lynn sentiment die. I think it has a really vintage look to it. To add to the vintage look I distressed some of the papers and used plenty of the distress inks.

I'm pleased with the final result of this card, I hope you like it too.

Thank you for stopping by, again, see you next time x

Dies R us challenge #62

Good morning visitors.

Time out challenge

Hello visitors.

Todays card I am entering (a very late entry!) into the Time out challenge #71.

The theme for this is 'Christmas with an optional twist if giltter or shimmer'.

Well I've certainly opted for a large twist of glitter on this one!

For this one I have used Sue Wilson noble squares dies. A Marianne design snowflake embossing folder. Sue Wilsons trailing ivy dies and the sentiment and poinsettia strip are both Cheery Lynn dies.
I've used some heavy weight glitter paper and also holographic and snowflake tinsel embossing powders for mega sparkle.

I hope you like todays card.
Wish me luck on the challenge

Thank you for stopping by, your visits and comments are very much appreciated x

Sunday, 4 December 2016

Hello again visitors.

Just a quick post today as I have a new cheery lynn die just arrived, which I'm desperate to play with!

Continuing the cheery lynn theme, my next card I am thinking of entering into this months cheery lynn design challenge.
I can only enter if I link the challenge to my blog, this should be fun lol.

Anyhow, here is my card.

I've used Sue Wilson noble squares, Spellbinders large grand ovals, lattice and tag dies. Also Marianne design flourishes and the little branches were a magazine freebie. All finished with my favourite Cheery Lynn poinsettia strip, which I've glittered for a bit of 'sparkle and shine'.

Well I really must go now folks.
I hope you like todays card and please stop by again soon x

Friday, 2 December 2016

Hello visitors.

I have a couple of recent makes to share with you today.
Two contrasting cards.

The first is a very simple card in black and gold.
I used a Sue Wilson die, lattice arched adornment, cut twice.
I also used Justrite labels 1 and the coordinating stamps, Christmas antique labels 1.
I was hoping for a simple yet elegant look for this card.

Second is a 'white on white' card. Still very simple, one of my favourite styles of card.
For this I used Spellbinders decorative swallowtail tags, I love these dies.
Also, Sue Wilson pine bough and Cheery lynn poinsettia strip.
Once again I used the matching Justrite labels and stamps.

Which one is your favourite?

Well, I'm calling it a night folks,
Thanks for visiting x

Monday, 28 November 2016

Hi everyone.

A quick morning post of a card I made last thing yesterday. I'm hoping that my new sentiment stamps arrive today so I may get a little carried away later.

Very difficult to photograph the true colour, but this is pretty close.

I used some burgandy and white metallic, textured card stock plus a sheet of iridescent glitter paper.
My favourite Joy Crafts border, Spelldinders heirloom reflections dies and the banner from Spellbinders decorative swallowtail tags set.
All finished with a few gems from my stash!

I hope you like it, now I really must go and stalk the postman.

Thank you for stopping by x

Sunday, 27 November 2016

Good afternoon one and all.

A very quick share of my weekend makes. A couple of cards with a 'his and her' theme.

Using Spellbinders heirloom ornaments and lattice dies, Spellbinders grand large labels, a 'freebie' embossing folder and a little Creative Expressions gilding wax.

A similar card with a difference. Here I used the Sue Wilson pierced squares and again the Spellbinders heirloom ornaments and lattice dies.

I hope you like todays offerings.

Hope you come back soon x

Friday, 25 November 2016

Good evening all.

Today I had the tiresome chore of taking my car to the garage. Along the way I picked up a couple of magazines (crafty ones, of course) to keep me occupied whilst I waited.
Now these magazines came with some freebies, which ordinarily get thrown in a drawer and mostly forgotten.
Today I decided to actually give them a whirl and with the addition of a few other bits from my stash, this is the result.

I used an embossing folder, 2 stamps and 3 dies from my 'freebies'.

It has a beautiful shine to it when it catches the light.

I'm quite happy with how it turned out. What do you think?

Well I'm heading off to bed now.

Thanks for stopping by x

Thursday, 24 November 2016

Hello there.

This cold/flu/bug I seem to have picked up is well and truly lingering much longer than I would like and so today is just a quick share of my 2 latest cards.

A simple Christmas card in navy and gold. I used spellbinder and Sue Wilson dies for this, a Marianne design embossing folder and a few pearls

I liked the white and gold version of this card so much I made another, very similar, but not exactly the same.

Well that's it for today.

Thanks for stopping by x

Tuesday, 22 November 2016

Hello again.

Today has well and truly been one of those 'should have stayed in bed' days. You know the ones I mean, where what can go wrong, will go wrong?
This post could well make matters worse, as today I am attempting to write my blog using my phone rather than my sons laptop. So fingers crossed!

Yesterday was a busy day for me with little time for card making. In the evening my intention was to have a play with my new Sue Wilson orange blossom dies and little else. However, the flowers inspired a card and I managed to get one finished before bed!

A one colour card with just a hint of distress ink on the flowers. I also used the Spellbinders decorative swallowtail tags and a tag from fancy tags one. The background is a dot embossing folder.

Of course I had to add a few pearls from my stash. I hope you like it.

Well, I think I'm going to call it a night now folks, I'm positive tomorrow is going to be a good day (mostly because I know I have some crafty goodness waiting at the post office for me!)

Have a good evening and thanks for stopping by x

Sunday, 20 November 2016

Good evening my lovely followers. Just a quick post today as I'm feeling a little under the weather. On the plus side I did manage to fit in a bit of crafting so all is good.

I'd like to share with you another of my cards that has gone off for sale at Beautiful by Design.

A very simple card in white and gold using a Sue Wilson die for the sentiment.

I also used my Spellbinders Grand squares, a Joy Crafts border die, Marianne Design snowflakes embossing folder and a few gems from my stash.

Very simple but, I have to say, I'm really pleased with this one.

I hope you like it and please pop by again to view more of my creations.

Saturday, 19 November 2016

Well hello and welcome to my 4 lovely followers (lol), and to anyone else who may have accidentally stumbled across my fledgling blog today.

I thought I ought to tell you a little about how this humble blog of mine came about.
During the summer, for various reasons, my crafting mojo took a little holiday. When it returned it was fully charged and ready to go and led me into somewhat of a card making frenzy!
So I crafted away making several cards, with no thought of who they were being made for, they just wanted to be made. I was really quite happy with what I was producing and took some photos and posted them on good old Facebook, where they were seen by a lovely local business woman, who asked if she could buy them to sell in her shop!
To say I was over the moon was an understatement to say the least.
Anyway, I'd had some really lovely comments and advice on some card making groups and one kind soul suggested I start a blog to showcase my cards. So here I am, trying to find my feet in blog land (and work out how to use my sons laptop he so kindly lent me).

Today I'd like to share with you a couple of the cards that have now found there way to  http://www.facebook.com/beautifulbydesignscarborough

This one was made using kraft card and papers from my stash. I used a large stamp for the background and a Justrite stamp with clear embossing powder on the spellbinders label 20.
I used one of the spellbinders floral oval dies on gold foil card and a Joy crafts label and tag.
The flowers were Cheery Lynn rose strip dies with some added stamens from The Works and the leaves are also Cheery Lynn.
The sentiment is from Crafters Companion sentimentals range.
I also used my trusty distress inks and ribbon from my stash.

Apologies for the photo quality on this one. it really doesn't show the colours at their best, but here's what I used.
The card was from my stash and the paper was from First Edition paper pack, Falling Leaves.
Joy Crafts fancy oval die, Spellbinders floral oval die and labels 20. The labels 20 is once again stamped using a Justrite stamp from the Kindness set and the sentiment is from the Fleur de lis labels 20 set.
The flowers are the Cheery Lynn rose strip dies and the flourishes are Marianne vintage swirls.
Ribbon and gems are from my stash.

So there we have it. These lovelies are now amongst the ones that are available to buy from Beautiful by Design. I hope I have successfully managed to add a link the Facebook page!

Did I mention that the postman called today with some lovely new dies that I just can't wait to play with? (shhh, don't tell the Hubster).

Thanks for stopping by x
